Combat Impressions

Members of C/401 (Reenacted) are expected to have at least two basic impressions. The “Early War” impression (15 August 1942 – 13 July 1944) is accurate for pre-Normandy training and Normandy. The “Late War” impression is accurate for Operation Market Garden (14 July 1944 – 8 May 1945) through the end of the war.


Basic Early War Impression

To attend Early War events, you must have or be able to borrow the following:

  • M1 Helmet & Liner w/ White Club & Ticks
  • Shirt, Wool, EM OD “Mustard”, M-1937
  • Jacket, Field, M-1941
  • M1 Rifle w/ sling
  • M1923 10-Pocket Cartridge Belt with:
    • OD3 M1942 First Aid Pouch w/ Bandage
    • OD3 M1910 or M1923 Canteen Carrier
    • OD3 M1910 or M1924, Canteen and Cu
  • Pants, Wool, EM OD “Mustard” M-1937
  • M1938 Canvas leggings
  • Low-quarter boot, Garrison or Rough out
